Business software provider Infoniqa – which acquired Sage Switzerland around four years ago – suffered a cyberattack, about which Swiss customers were informed last week, according to a reader report to "Swiss IT Magazine." Upon request, the company has now confirmed the attack, which took place during the night of Sunday, August 3rd, to Monday, August 4th. "We detected it on Monday morning and immediately implemented our protective measures prepared for such cases. Part of this included shutting down and disconnecting the affected systems, which is why there are currently technical restrictions in various areas," explains Infoniqa.
The company cannot yet provide any details on the exact causes. The relevant authorities have been informed, and investigations by external experts are ongoing. They are currently still in the process of establishing a situation report to fully assess which systems are affected by the incident and which are secure and functional. "As soon as we have a complete situation report, we will immediately establish a timeline for restoring our products and services and inform our employees and customers," Infoniqa stated. Security over speed is always a priority. "We therefore ask for your understanding that we cannot provide any further information at this time."
Regarding data loss, Infoniqa states that there are currently no concrete indications that personal or business data has been stolen. "Should this assessment change, we will, of course, inform you immediately." The company also promises that it will inform you immediately if certain applications and systems can be safely put back into operation.
