Samsung is testing new camera features that may be released with One UI 8.5. According to firmware leaks from enthusiasts, the default video editor will now support LUTs (presets for color correction of videos shot in Log format). This will eliminate the need for third-party software.
Log videos have a flat, gray look that preserves more detail for post-production. LUTs allow you to quickly achieve the desired effect. Previously, third-party software was required to process Log recordings, but now Samsung has integrated the necessary tools directly into its built-in editor.
Additionally, references to a 3D shooting mode and the APV (Advanced Professional Video) format have been discovered in the camera code. Judging by these, 3D video will be limited to the wide-angle camera and require good lighting conditions, while the standard image library will also support the new format.
It's unclear whether these new features will be limited to the upcoming flagship Galaxy S26 series or whether Samsung will roll them out to older devices via firmware updates.
