According to official news, Qualcomm will hold the first day of its 2025 Snapdragon Summit on September 24th, focusing on the launch of its next-generation flagship mobile platform and the future of mobile technology. At 9:00 AM, Qualcomm President and CEO Cristiano Amon will participate in a livestream, leading the audience in exploring how the Snapdragon platform will unlock new mobile experiences in the AI era.
The summit's most anticipated event was the official unveiling of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a new generation flagship mobile platform. As Qualcomm's latest top-tier mobile platform, it is expected to debut in the Xiaomi 17 series and subsequently feature in high-end flagship models from major brands such as Honor, iQOO, OnePlus, Samsung, OPPO, and Vivo, becoming the core driver of the Android ecosystem in the second half of 2025.
Previously leaked information indicates that the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 will be manufactured using TSMC's advanced 3nm N3P process, resulting in an approximately 4% increase in transistor density compared to its predecessor, further optimizing energy efficiency. The CPU continues its proprietary Oryon architecture design, abandoning the traditional ARM reference design and adopting an innovative "2+6" all-large core architecture. This includes two ultra-large cores clocked at up to 4.74GHz and six large cores clocked at 3.63GHz. The total cache capacity has been increased to 32MB, significantly enhancing multitasking and sustained performance.
Leaked performance test data indicates that the chip is expected to achieve a single-core score exceeding 4,000 points in the GeekBench 6 test, with a multi-core score exceeding 11,000 points. The AnTuTu overall score may also break the 4 million mark for the first time. The platform also integrates an X85 5G modem, supporting 5G peak download speeds of up to 10Gbps.
