On September 24th, CNMO noted that a blogger had leaked some specifications for the Huawei Mate 80 Pro+. According to the blogger, the top-of-the-line version will feature a 6000mAh battery, 24GB of RAM, and 2TB of storage. The Huawei Mate 80 series also includes a new Air model, featuring a fanless micro-pump design and eSIM support.
According to CNMO, eSIM, or embedded SIM card, is a technology that embeds traditional SIM cards directly into the device chip, eliminating the need for users to insert a physical SIM card and saving internal device space.
Multiple sources have previously indicated that the Huawei Mate 80 series will support a new communication architecture that combines low-orbit satellite communications with eSIM technology. Huawei's Executive Director, Richard Yu, previously stated that the low-orbit satellite internet system is still undergoing testing and is expected to begin public testing in the second half of 2025. This suggests that the Huawei Mate 80 series is expected to feature this new technology.
In terms of the display, the Huawei Mate80 Pro+ is expected to feature a flat-panel design with dual-layer OLED technology, boasting a peak brightness of 3000 nits and a resolution of 3200×1440 pixels. Bezels will be reduced to 1.2mm, resulting in a 95% screen-to-body ratio and support for 3D facial recognition.
Otherwise, the entire Huawei Mate80 series is likely to be equipped with the Kirin 9030 chipset and HarmonyOS 6.0, supporting 100W wired fast charging and 80W wireless charging. It is expected to be released in November this year.
