Today, Apple released the iOS/iPadOS 26.1 Developer Preview Beta update (build number: 23B5044l) to iPhone and iPad users, just 16 days after the last Beta/RC release.
First, Apple Intelligence now supports Danish, Dutch, Norwegian, Portuguese (Portugal), Swedish, Turkish, Traditional Chinese, and Vietnamese, significantly expanding its global coverage. AirPods' real-time translation feature has been upgraded to include Japanese, Korean, Italian, and Chinese (both Traditional and Simplified), allowing users to perform two-way translation through their earbuds, perfect for travel, business, and other scenarios.
In addition, the Phone app's numeric keypad now features a liquid glass design for enhanced clarity; Apple Music now allows users to swipe left or right on the song title area to switch tracks, making it easier to navigate; and the Photos app's video slider has been optimized. The Calendar app now features a full-color background to display different calendar events, and Safari has a wider bottom tab bar, reducing margins for improved control accuracy.
In terms of security mechanisms, "Express Security Updates" has been renamed "Background Security Improvements." This feature installs security patches before regular updates. If compatibility issues arise, the patch push may be delayed. This update once again demonstrates Apple's continued investment in globalization and detailed user experience.
