On the afternoon of September 22nd, MediaTek officially launched the Dimensity 9500, its next-generation flagship mobile platform.
The Dimensity 9500 utilizes TSMC's third-generation 3nm process (N3P), integrating over 30 billion transistors. It features Arm's latest architecture and debuts a "third-generation all-big core" CPU design. It consists of one C1-Ultra core clocked at up to 4.21GHz, three C1-Premium cores clocked at 3.5GHz, and four C1-Pro efficiency cores clocked at 2.7GHz. It also features 16MB of L3 cache and 10MB of system cache, significantly improving data processing efficiency.
The 9500 chip was released, built on TSMC's 3nm process, boasting a 32% performance boost.
In terms of performance, the Dimensity 9500 achieved a single-core score of 4007 in a lab environment, a 32% improvement over its predecessor; its multi-core score reached 11217, a 17% increase. Thanks to advanced process and architectural optimizations, the Dimensity 9500 achieves a 55% reduction in power consumption for its super-large cores at peak performance, and a 37% reduction in overall multi-core power consumption, achieving a balance of powerful performance and excellent energy efficiency.
On the GPU side, the Dimensity 9500 integrates the latest G1-Ultra MC12 GPU and introduces a GPU Dynamic Cache architecture, delivering a 33% improvement in graphics performance and a 42% reduction in power consumption. In 144Hz high-frame-rate gaming scenarios, it achieves stable full-frame performance throughout the entire process. Combined with Dimensity Star Speed Engine Frame Rate 3.0, it balances high frame rates with low power consumption, doubling ray tracing rendering performance.
The Dimensity 9500 also debuts support for the 4-channel UFS 4.1 flash storage standard. Its AI performance has also been significantly upgraded, featuring a dual NPU architecture and Generative AI Engine 2.0. This supports running large models on-device, enabling advanced AI features such as text-to-image, text-to-text, and 4K super-resolution, delivering faster response times and protecting user privacy. MediaTek also launched the second-generation Dimensity scheduling engine, which covers multiple technologies such as super memory compression, consistency engine, computing power scheduling and animation smoothness, optimizing the system's underlying resource scheduling and ensuring a smooth experience of application startup, touch response and animation switching.
