Xiaomi accidentally updated its official Weibo account profile picture prematurely, showcasing the design of its upcoming flagship smartphone. While the error was quickly corrected, users were able to save images of the device.
Based on the released photos, the smartphone will feature a triple-camera setup, with two large modules (likely a primary and telephoto lens) and a smaller lens (apparently an ultra-wide-angle lens).
The device's key feature is a wide camera module, similar to the iPhone 17 Pro, but with a built-in display for various information. Although Xiaomi previously experimented with a similar design with the 11 Ultra, the new design is more reminiscent of the external screen on the Xiaomi Mi Mix Flip 2 flip phone. Incidentally, this design has previously appeared in spy photos.
The launch event for Xiaomi's new flagship phone will take place before the end of September. The company has officially announced that it will skip the 16 series to compete with Apple.
