Samsung has begun releasing the stable version of One UI 8.0, based on Android 16. The update is first arriving to users of current flagship models, with older devices arriving soon.
The firmware has begun rolling out to the Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, and S25 Edge. In the coming weeks, the update is expected to roll out to the Galaxy S24 series, the foldable Galaxy Z Flip6, and the Galaxy Z Fold6. The list will expand to other supported smartphones and tablets by the end of the year.
One UI 8.0 brings a host of new features: improved AI capabilities, expanded interface personalization options, a redesigned Now Bar and Now Brief panel. Additionally, the update enhances system security with improved Knox services and updated security tools.
The firmware also includes new versions of Secure Folder and Samsung DeX, updated Quick Share, and improvements to the Calendar, Clock, and Reminders apps. However, some features will not work on older devices.
