Honor recently announced that its Magic V5 saw a 75% increase in first-week sales in Europe compared to its predecessor, the Magic V3, with strong performance across both online and offline channels. This achievement has propelled Honor's share of the European foldable phone market to a 34% increase, making it the fastest-growing foldable phone manufacturer in the region.
The Honor Magic V5 is marketed as the "world's thinnest foldable phone." Measuring just 8.8mm thin and weighing 217g, it houses a 5820mAh silicon-carbon battery. It features a 6.43-inch external screen and a 7.95-inch internal screen, and supports stylus operation.
Notably, the Honor Magic V5 is IP58 and IP59 certified for dust and water resistance, and has been awarded the Guinness World Record for the "heaviest weight-bearing foldable phone when suspended."
For imaging, the Honor Magic V5 features a fully upgraded AI Eagle Eye camera system, including a 64-megapixel ultra-sensitive periscope telephoto lens.
In terms of software, the Honor Magic V5 features Multi-Flex, allowing users to run three apps simultaneously. The phone also features 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. It's available in four colors: Ivory White, Black, Dawn Gold, and Reddish Brown. The 16GB + 512GB version starts at €1,999 in Europe, which converts to approximately 17,000 RMB.
The Honor Western Europe President noted that sales data confirms strong demand for high-end AI foldable phones among European consumers.
