Xiaomi has reportedly launched a closed beta program for new features on its AI glasses, recruiting 200 Mi Fans nationwide to participate. The beta program will focus on testing innovative features such as Alipay's "Look" payment and Xiao Ai's "Notes" feature. Registration is open from August 29th to 31st, and the trial will run from September 1st to 5th. This marks another significant move by Xiaomi into the smart wearables sector, following the release of its first AI glasses in June.
According to the official announcement, beta testers will be the first to experience seven major feature upgrades. The most notable is the new Alipay "Look" payment feature, which allows users to activate Xiao Ai's voice assistant to assist with QR code payments, significantly improving transaction convenience. Furthermore, the Xiao Ai Notes feature will support multiple recording methods, including voice recording and taking photos to record parking spaces, with all content accessible at any time. Regarding image processing, the system has added a post-shooting leveling function to automatically optimize image quality and enhance the file transfer experience. These upgrades demonstrate the Xiaomi AI glasses' transformation from a simple hardware product to a smart lifestyle assistant.
On a technical level, this closed beta also includes a major upgrade to the recording summary function. The system automatically identifies and tags speakers, accurately summarizes key points, and supports sharing via webpage or image. The Xiaoai Image Q&A feature has also been optimized, providing more concise and accurate responses. Furthermore, the interactive experience has been comprehensively improved, including fixed beep volume, a flashing indicator light for incoming calls and before recording ends, and other refinements. These improvements significantly enhance user convenience. Notably, these feature upgrades are based on improved device stability, reflecting Xiaomi's strong commitment to product reliability.
As Xiaomi's first AI glasses, they have garnered significant attention since their release in June. With a starting price of 1,999 yuan, a lightweight design of 40 grams, and three interchangeable frame options, they strike a balance between technological sophistication and practicality. The 12MP lens supports first-person perspective shooting, and combined with the open-ear headphones and five-microphone system, they excel in scenarios like video calls and live streaming. This internal testing not only refines the existing product but also accumulates valuable data for future iterations.
