Samsung showcased a new TV featuring a display that uses a Micro RGB backlight, comprised of LEDs smaller than 100 microns. Unlike traditional backlights, the new technology allows for precise control of the RGB LEDs.
Micro RGB technology is based on Samsung's Micro RGB AI Engine, which features built-in AI that analyzes each frame in real time, optimizing the sound and picture for a "more realistic, immersive image." With Micro RGB Color Booster Pro, the engine can detect scenes with dull tones and improve the picture, while Micro RGB Precision Color ensures maximum color accuracy and brightness. According to the company, the display covers 100% of the BT.2020 color space. It also features anti-glare technology to minimize glare, ensuring comfortable viewing even in bright sunlight.
The TV features a slim metal body and runs the Tizen operating system. It also has a built-in Bixby voice assistant and Samsung Vision AI for additional image and sound processing. The TV is protected by Samsung Knox, providing seven years of operating system updates.
Samsung's new TV will be available in South Korea, the US, and globally.
