a player with the nickname "wemino" created a patch to port the original version of "fear" to modern systems. this patch, called "echo patch", adds support for monitors with resolutions of 1080p or higher, and correctly adapts the text and interface to large screens. additionally, it includes support for controllers and steam deck, disabling the progress bar during cut scenes, and relaxing the charging limit for flashlights.
