Samsung wants to make some Galaxy Watch features paid

Samsung is considering launching a paid subscription to the Samsung Health service, according to Dr. Hong Park, head of digital health at the company. According to him, the model will resemble Fitbit Premium or Garmin Connect Plus, where some additional features are only available for a fee.

It has not yet been specified which options will be paid. According to a company representative, these may even be features from the future One UI 8 Watch update. Among them are vascular load indicators, tips for improving sleep, antioxidant analysis, and other tools for advanced health monitoring.

There is a possibility that new Galaxy Watch models will receive these features for free, while owners of older watches will have to pay for access. Samsung has previously hinted at such a possibility, stating that the terms of use of new features may change.

In the past, Samsung also warned that some Galaxy AI features will be distributed for free only until the end of 2025. However, the company has not yet specified how exactly it will implement the transition to a paid subscription.
