AMD launches Threadripper PRO 9000 processors and Radeon AI PRO 9000 graphics cards


AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 9000 series high-performance processors and Radeon AI PRO graphics accelerators have been officially released. The new products focus on performing hardware-intensive tasks in professional fields, including AI computing and 3D design.

The Ryzen Threadripper 9000 series includes a variety of CPU models based on the Zen 5 architecture, including a top-level version with 96 cores and 192 threads. The processors for the sTR socket use up to 128 PCIe lanes, support up to 2 TB of DDR5 (ECC) RAM and AVX-512 instruction set.

According to the manufacturer, compared with the "Seven Thousand" series, the performance of the new products is an average of 16% higher in traditional scenarios and 25% higher when performing AI operations. At the same time, the maximum TDP has also increased - up to 500 W.

At the same time, the company presented the more affordable Threadripper PRO 9000 WX series (up to 96 cores/192 threads, TDP up to 350 W, without AMD PRO support, reduced I/O feature set) and the Threadripper 9000X HEDT, focused on high-performance computers and entry-level workstations.

The Radeon AI PRO 9000 series graphics cards are based on the Navi 48 GPU. The flagship of the series is the Radeon AI Pro R64 RDNA 4 with 9700 compute units (4096 stream processors), 128 AI cores and 32 GB of GDDR6 video memory (claimed performance - up to 1531 TOPS).

The Ryzen series processors Threadripper 9000X will be available in the retail market, while the Ryzen Threadripper PRO 9000 WX - only for OEM servers and workstations. The Radeon AI PRO 9000 graphics card will be shipped through AMD partners. The start date and price of the new products have not yet been announced.
