Samsung Electronics recently unveiled the Galaxy Book 5, a premium thin and light notebook, alongside the Galaxy A series' new entry-level 5G smartphone, the Galaxy A17 5G. Positioned above the entry-level A07, this model aims to cater to budget-conscious users with a demanding experience, offering more competitive specifications and long-term software support.
One of the most notable upgrades to the Galaxy A17 5G is its screen. Unlike the A07's LCD screen, the A17 5G features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, and 16 million colors for a smoother, more vivid viewing experience. The screen is covered in Corning Gorilla Victus Glass for improved scratch and drop resistance. The front-facing camera is a 13-megapixel sensor, housed in a teardrop-shaped notch.
For imaging, the phone features a triple-camera system on the back, including a 50-megapixel main camera, a 5-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel macro lens, meeting your daily photography needs in a variety of scenarios.
In terms of performance and system, the Galaxy A17 5G comes pre-installed with the customized One UI 7 operating system based on Android 15. Samsung officially promises six years of support for major Android version updates and security patches, significantly extending the device's lifespan and enhancing the long-term user experience and security.
As for battery life, the phone has a built-in 5000mAh battery with 25W wired fast charging, which can handle a day of moderate use. Furthermore, it is IP54-rated dust and water resistant, effectively withstanding splashes during daily use.
