Samsung is expected to launch the Z TriFold (tentative name), its first triple-foldable phone, in late 2025. According to recent leaks, the device will feature a 10.1-inch inward-folding screen and the revolutionary "Split Trio" multitasking feature. This feature allows for the first time the display of three standard-sized app windows, completely resolving the pain point of existing foldable phones with cramped split-screen multitasking.
CNMO has learned from foreign media that the new Z TriFold will also introduce "outer screen-inner screen mirroring" technology: the user's three main screens on the outer screen will be simultaneously mapped to the inner folding screen, creating a triple home screen view for improved efficiency. This feature can be manually disabled, continuing Samsung's foldable phone tradition.
In terms of hardware, the Z TriFold is expected to use the Snapdragon 8 Extreme Edition mobile platform, with the same camera configuration as the Z Fold7, but a larger battery capacity and a thinner and lighter body. It will come pre-installed with Android 16 and One UI 8.5, and promises seven years of major Android updates.
As for the price, analysts have pointed out that Huawei's upcoming Mate XTs, a three-foldable phone, is expected to start at around 19,999 yuan. However, due to higher technical costs, the Samsung Z TriFold could be priced above 20,000 yuan, with the 256GB version costing around 21,000 yuan, even slightly higher than Huawei's flagship product. Samsung previously announced that the Z TriFold is a "technical experiment," with an initial annual production volume of only 200,000 units. Production capacity constraints could hinder market adoption.
