Samsung has expanded its One UI 8 beta to include several models, including the S24 series, Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6. Previously, the One UI 8 beta was limited to S25 series users since its release in May. This expansion marks a new phase in the system's testing.
One UI 8 is based on Android 16, and Samsung is one of the first smartphone manufacturers to release a beta version of the new Android operating system. The beta includes the entire S25 series, the entire S24 series, the Z Fold 6, and the Z Flip 6. However, beta updates are rolled out in batches, so users may need to wait several days to receive notification. Also, beta spots are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Users can sign up for the beta through the Samsung Members app. To register, open the app and look for the One UI 8 beta banner. Click and follow the prompts to complete the registration process. Then, go to Settings > Software Update to check for and download the update. Samsung recommends that users ensure their devices have at least 30% battery and ample storage space before installing to avoid issues during the upgrade.
Since this is a beta version, the system may have stability issues, unfinished features, or potential bugs. Therefore, installation on primary devices is not recommended. Samsung urges users to back up important data in advance to mitigate risks.
In addition, Samsung has announced the next phase of testing. The One UI 8 beta is expected to be expanded to the S23 series, Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, and mid-range models such as the A55 5G, A54, A36 5G, and A35 5G in September 2025.
