The 2025 World Humanoid Robot Games, the world's first comprehensive competitive event featuring humanoid robots, officially kicked off at the Beijing National Speed Skating Oval, known as the "Ice Ribbon." CNMO noted that a humanoid robot, despite losing an arm, managed to complete a 1500-meter race.
The 2025 World Humanoid Robot Games will feature 26 events and 487 competitions, attracting 280 teams from 16 countries and over 500 robots. The humanoid robot that managed to complete the 1500-meter race despite losing an arm is named "Walker Taishan" and is from Shandong Ubot Intelligent Robot Co., Ltd. Standing 1.7 meters tall and weighing 43 kilograms, it is equipped with a 31-degree-of-freedom joint module, a high-precision six-axis force sensor, a depth camera, and a lidar.
Building on a decade of expertise in legged robotics, Ubot developed the humanoid robot, "Walker Taishan," in less than two months in early 2024, setting an industry record for development speed. After continuous training, "Taishan the Walker" can run steadily at a speed of 7.2 km/h, reaching a leading domestic level. In June of this year, as the industry's first humanoid robot to climb Mount Tai, "Taishan the Walker" completed a training test on the winding trails of Mount Tai, demonstrating excellent athletic performance and adaptability to complex terrain. It can climb steps up to 25 cm high and reach a maximum speed of 4 meters per second.
It is reported that at the World Humanoid Robot Games, "Taishan the Walker" will participate in the 100m, 4x100m, 400m, 1500m, and 100m obstacle courses.
