According to TrendForce's latest research report, global OLED display shipments are expected to reach 2.66 million units in 2025, a year-on-year increase of 86%, accounting for approximately 2% of the overall display market. The Chinese market is expected to grow to over 20%.
In 2024, North America, driven by a strong presence of brand manufacturers, will become the largest market for OLED display shipments, accounting for 44%. However, due to various factors, North America's market share is expected to decline to 33% in 2025. Meanwhile, Europe's shipment share will climb from 28% in 2024 to 33%, matching North America's. Furthermore, China's market growth is particularly impressive, with its shipment share projected to increase significantly from 14% in 2024 to 21% in 2025, becoming a key driver of the global OLED display market.
TrendForce points out that the development of the esports industry is one of the key factors driving demand for OLED displays. Compared to LCD displays, OLED technology offers higher contrast, faster response times, and a wider color gamut. In Europe, major esports brands have further stimulated consumer purchasing interest through enhanced marketing and promotion. In China, in addition to individual esports enthusiasts, internet cafes have been continuously shifting towards high-end devices in recent years. High-spec monitors have become a key feature to attract users, providing ample room for growth for high-end OLED products.
The agency believes that with the continued maturity of OLED panel production technology and cost optimization, OLED display prices are expected to fall further in the coming years. Furthermore, brand manufacturers are increasing their promotional efforts in Europe and China, further driving global OLED display shipment growth. By 2028, the penetration rate of OLED displays is expected to reach 5%.
