OpenAI's search engine got better and more accurate, but noticeably slower

OpenAI updated its search service - thus, it significantly "boosted" its capabilities, but the improvements are not without negative consequences. Neural networks began to provide more detailed answers to user requests, but you have to wait longer.

According to the developers, after the update, the search engine began to take into account longer conversation contexts and better follow the instructions given in the query. If the query is too complex, it can be automatically supplemented with other queries, breaking down the task into separate steps. In addition, it is possible to search on the Internet using downloaded images.

Due to these improvements, the search became more time-consuming, and in some cases even simple queries suddenly lead to a chain of reasoning. According to company representatives, this error will be fixed in the near future. OpenAI also reminds that neural networks sometimes make mistakes, so you should always double-check the answers. The update is available in the free version of the service, also for users without a subscription.
