NVIDIA has released an updated version of the flagship GeForce RTX 5090D graphics card, intended for sale on the Chinese market, taking into account export restrictions. The main difference between the V2 model and its predecessor is the amount of video memory.
The new product is based on the GB202-240 graphics processor with the same 21,760 CUDA cores as the base RTX 5090D. The clock frequency has also not changed (2.41 GHz in Boost mode), but the amount of video memory has decreased from 32 to 24 GB, and the bus width has decreased from 512 to 384 bits. The declared TDP of the video card is 575 W.
The recommended retail price of the stripped-down version of the flagship is 16,499 yuan (about $2,298 at the exchange rate on the day of publication of the news). Judging by the results of the first tests, in games and benchmarks the new product lags behind the “regular” RTX 5090D by only 1–4% both in scenarios with classic rasterization and when using ray tracing technology.
