Volkswagen has announced the e-Transporter DoKa electric pickup truck, a practical work vehicle with a six-passenger cab and a spacious platform. Developed on a stretched Ford Transit chassis, it's already available on the brand's German online configurator.
With a wheelbase of 3,500 mm and an overall length of 5,613 mm, the DoKa is longer than the Amarok. Due to its short hood, almost all of the space is dedicated to the cargo bed. It has a maximum payload of 785 kg and a braked trailer towing capacity of up to 2,000 kg.
The base model is equipped with a 100-kW electric motor producing 135 horsepower, while the top-of-the-line model boasts 280 horsepower. The battery is presumably similar to the 64 kWh battery in the e-Transporter van.
The vehicle is positioned as a work tool. Its load capacity, spaciousness, and strength make it a valuable alternative to diesel and gasoline pickup trucks.
Price starts at $60,500 (excluding VAT).
