Capcom Releases Monster Hunter Wilds Soundtrack in MP3 Format. It's More Expensive Than the Gam

Monster Hunter Wilds became an incredibly successful release by Capcom, despite the widespread dissatisfaction with the optimization among PC gamers. A few months later, they decided to release the soundtrack from the game separately, but fans did not appreciate it.

Capcom has added the soundtrack from Monster Hunter Wilds to Steam. The set consists of 126 tracks, divided into seven "discs". The collection of tracks will cost a "modest" $ 75, that is, more expensive than the game itself, which is sold for $ 70. At the same time, the soundtrack is available exclusively in the basic MP3 format: without lossless formats for music lovers and a physical version. In addition, the track names are incorrectly displayed when playing through iTunes.

This situation outraged Monster Hunter Wilds fans, who considered Capcom's behavior to be an expression of greed. Gamers are unhappy that the game's authors demand more for music in MP3 format than for the title itself. In addition, all the tracks on the soundtrack are available for free on YouTube or Spotify, so there is no point in paying for it.

Recall that Monster Hunter Wilds was released in February 2025 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Despite the fact that the game has long been at the top of Steam sales, it has only 47% positive reviews: gamers are unhappy with the optimization of the title on PC.
